You are the most important person in your life.
Are you the person you have always wanted to be? Or is there still a longing inside of you to become someone you are not yet? What does that person look like?
Happy? Healthy? Successful? Playful? Funny? Generous? Kind? Compassionate? Caring? Helpful? Smart? Loving? Trustworthy? Liked?
That person you really want to be already exists inside of you. The only thing you need to do is embrace and love who you are. As always, it is not the external world that will allow you to become that person you truly want to be. It is an inside job!

  1. How do you want to feel?
    What makes you happy? What brings you joy while doing it? How do you want to feel when you are the person you have always wanted to be? Once you are able to answer that, you’ve figured out how to lead a happy life on your terms, where life itself makes you happy and not just achieving goals or dreams. Following your dreams is fun and enjoyable, because you know how you want to feel along the way.
  2. Don’t get distracted.
    It is so easy to compare yourself to others. May that be someone your age who is further along in their career or already has a family while you are still searching for the right person to fall in love and build that family with. Don’t do this to yourself! You are right where you need to be and if you compare yourself to someone else, you are trying to compare an apple with a strawberry. You simply can’t. Everyone has a different story, a different set of experiences, talents and a different environment. So instead of comparing, be happy for them and cheer them on while being content where you are right now. I know that this can be extremely difficult at times. But some things in life simply need time. So don’t get distracted by other people’s „perfect“ life. It rarely is perfect. But that’s okay. It doesn’t have to be! Life is what you make of it and brings you happiness on your terms.
  3. Do more of what you love and makes you happy.
    Make time to engage in activities or adventures that bring you joy, that make you smile. Because this will give you a lot of insights into the person you actually are. Whenever you feel this joys or have a moment you are connecting with yourself. Learn from that. And do indulge in those pleasures of yours on a more regular basis. As you do, you will witness life changing around you, attracting things and people into your life you would never have thought possible.
  4. Embrace yourself completely.
    I promise you that your imperfections are beautiful! Embrace them! Love yourself for who you are. If you don’t do it, how is someone else supposed to love you? You have to look after yourself. You have to make sure that you are happy. Nobody else can do that for you. They cannot see inside your heart. So make sure that you are compassionate and kind to yourself. And please, extend the same love to yourself as you would to the most important person in your life. Because you deserve to be loved that way with all those beautiful imperfections of yours!
  5. What is holding you back?
    Don’t block or limit yourself! Don’t let fear get in the way of you becoming something beautiful. Someone who knows who they are and radiates that with joy. And remember, you won’t ever be able to find your true self within your comfort zone.
