I have bad days and I am sure so do you! I have some things I turn to when those sad or confusing feelings emerge. I write or I turn to my favorite motivational people and the things they have said.I have compiled 5 quotes for you here that will hopefully support you in finding your way back to happiness!

Being happy doesn’t mean that everything is perfect. It means that you’ve decided to look beyond the imperfections.

Gerard Way

Life is never going to be perfect. We are never going to be perfect. As life, we will constantly evolve and change and that is okay. Perfectionism takes the fun out of things. It wants us to be in control. But instead learn to let go and enjoy that imperfect life we’ve been given with its unique and beautiful moments.

Don’t let your happiness be controlled by something you can’t control.

C.S. Lewis

There are many, many things in life that we won’t be able to control. Don’t let it control you! Realize that you always have a choice and you can choose to let go of trying to control life. Just enjoy!

True happiness comes from within, not someone else. Don’t make the mistake of waiting on someone or something to come and make you happy.

Happiness is an inside job. I have said it often and I will say it again! You will find it inside yourself once you have figured out what lights you up and truly fills you with joy. That means you can be happy now and don’t have to wait for someone to make you happy. You can make yourself happy! Live your life!

When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‚happy‘. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment. And I told them they didn’t understand life.

John Lennon

I think this should be taught in school! To be happy is probably one of life’s greatest goals. Yet it also hangs above us as such a huge concept. Happiness is expected of us. We live in such a privileged world that it simply would not be okay to be anything less than happy. Yet we were never taught what true happiness means and how to find it.

Happiness is a journey, not a destination.

The Dalai Lama

Too often we believe that once we have found our true love or lost weight or achieved a certain step in our career, happiness will come. However, once you have achieved your goal, the euphoria you feel, it will wear of. Then you have spent so much time working towards a goal that will only give you a very narrow window of happiness. Instead, consider to make the journey to your goal one of happiness as well! Make sure that you enjoy whatever it is that you have to do to get to your goal. That way you will gift yourself many joyful moments instead of just one fleeting one. Make this your happy journey!
